Making the switch to LED lighting can provide numerous benefits for businesses, including reducing energy costs, improving lighting quality, and decreasing maintenance needs. According to WattLogic, LED lights convert 95% of their energy into lights with only 5% being wasted as heat, all while using far less power!
At Gold Bond, Inc. we’ve been working toward transitioning all of our lights to LED in order to be more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. As of May 2023 we already have 75% of our headquarters, warehouse, and production zones completed! We are currently shooting to be completed by the end of August, but have had some setbacks with the production conversion due to supplier issues. Our biggest reasons for the switch were to be more environmentally friendly and save on repair and energy bill costs.
If you're considering an LED lighting project at your workplace, here are a few key steps to get started:
The first step in any lighting project is to assess your lighting needs. This can include evaluating your current lighting system, identifying areas that need improvement, and determining the lighting requirements for each space.
LED lighting comes in a variety of types, including bulbs, fixtures, and strip lighting. It's important to choose the right type of LED lighting for your specific needs, based on factors such as color temperature, brightness, and compatibility with your existing fixtures.
One of the key benefits of LED lighting is its energy efficiency, which can lead to significant cost savings over time. Before beginning your project, it's important to calculate the potential cost savings based on factors such as energy use, maintenance needs, and the cost of the LED lighting itself.
Once you've chosen the right LED lighting and calculated the cost savings, it's time to plan your installation. This can include creating a detailed timeline, coordinating with contractors or vendors, and ensuring that all necessary permits and approvals are in place.
Finally, it's important to monitor and maintain your LED lighting system to ensure that it continues to provide optimal performance. This can include regular inspections, cleaning, and repairs as needed.
